State Rep. Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) took his loss in stride during a recent Rubik’s Cube challenge at Hazel Marie’s Ice Cream Shop in Plainfield where he came up short against a third-grader.
“She beat me by just seconds,” Batinick posted to his Facebook page. “Way to go Brooke.”
Part of Plainfield Fest, the event was held on July 21 and there was plenty of free ice cream on hand for the winners. Brooke was the youngest winner of the contest.
In the days leading up to the event, Batinick gave the impression he was ready to take on all challengers.
“(I’m) coming to my booth between 12 and 3,” he added in another post. “Hope to see you there.”
