City of Joliet Stadium Committee met June 18.

1. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilman Michael F. Turk.
ABSENT: Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman.
ALSO PRESENT: Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, Interim City Manager Martin J. Shanahan, Jr., Deputy City Manager/Economic Development Director Steve Jones, City Clerk Christa Desiderio, Deputy Police Chiefs Marc Reid and John Perona, Public Assets Supervisor Mike Eulitz, Vice President Joliet Slammers John Wilson, Bob Okon and Rachel Barks - Joliet Herald News, John Sheridan.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – June 3, 2019
Motion to approve the MINUTES of the June 3, 2019 Stadium Committee Meeting was made by Councilman Michael F. Turk.
Motion seconded by Councilman Pat Mudron.
Motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilman Michael F. Turk.
NAYS: None.
3. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS
None
4. NAMING RIGHTS
John Wilson gave a brief update on the upgrades to the ballpark and non-baseball events held at the stadium to date.
Mr. Wilson discussed the Slammers' multi-year naming rights agreement with DuPage Medical Group which does not have an attendance clause.
A brief discussion was held regarding the naming rights agreement between the Slammers and DuPage Medical Group.
A brief discussion was held concerning rebranding the stadium.
Councilwoman Quillman entered the meeting at approximately 5:00 p.m.
5. PUBLIC COMMENT
John Sheridan spoke regarding a confidentiality agreement.
6. NEW OR OLD BUSINESS NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION
The Committee briefly discussed the scheduling of a July Stadium Committee meeting.
A brief discussion was held regarding the approval of the agreement for the naming rights.
Mr. Wilson briefly discussed respecting the privacy of DuPage Medical Group.
A brief discussion was held regarding the legalities of entering closed session to discuss the financials of the agreement with DuPage Medical Group.
A brief discussion was held regarding the City's financial responsibility for the signage at the stadium.
Christa Desiderio, City Clerk, gave a brief report on the IHSA Boys' Baseball Championship tournament held at Joliet Route 66 Stadium.
A brief discussion was held regarding the tournament.
7. ADJOURNMENT
Motion to adjourn was made by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman.
Motion seconded by Councilman Michael F. Turk.
Motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Michael F. Turk.
