July-Dec. 2018 Recap: Parolees in Joliet convicted of crimes involving alcohol

There were nine offenders convicted of crimes involving alcohol released on parole in Joliet during the second half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Will County Gazette.

The data shows that nine men were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving alcohol, one is a veteran, and the median age is 46. The youngest parolee was a 28-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 73-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was John Crowe. He was convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2015 when he was 42 years old. He is now 46.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders during the second half of 2018 who were convicted of crimes involving alcohol.
