The following action was taken on March 12 in the House on House bill HR122 ("vote by mail program-encourage"): "Assigned to Executive Committee."

When a bill is introduced to the House, the clerk reads the bill title and it is automatically referred to the Rules Committee. If the Rules Committee thinks that the bill merits further consideration, it is assigned to another committee. In this case, the bill was assigned to the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee is a standing committee of the Illinois House of Representatives.

The bill, as it was introduced in the House by Rep. John Connor (D-85) on Feb. 14, "encourages increased investment and participation in vote by mail programs," according to the General Assembly website.
