When a bill is introduced to the House, the clerk reads the bill title and it is automatically referred to the Rules Committee. The bill, as it was introduced in the House by Rep. Mark Batinick (R-97) on Jan. 11, "authorizes the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to commence a procurement process for a project to provide additional highway capacity along Interstate 55 from Interstate 355 to Interstate 90/Interstate 94 in DuPage, Cook, and Will Counties, and toll the additional capacity," according to the General Assembly website.
