The price of local government in 2016: DuPage Township

Budget 11

The DuPage Township budget was $2.74 million for its 2016 fiscal year.

That's a decrease of 0.7 percent from 2015, when the township spent $2.76 million.

DuPage Township has a population of 87,793.

Since 2001, the DuPage Township budget has fallen by 3.2 percent, from $2.83 million. The township population has grown 22.4 percent over the same period, from 71,745.

Salaries accounted for 45.5 percent of township spending in 2016. DuPage Township property taxpayers paid $1.24 million for 15 full-time employees and 11 part-time employees.

In 2001, the township had 15 full-time employees and 23 part-time employees, and spent $708,748.
