Peotone home prices fall in the first quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2017 in Peotone fell by $1,400 while total sales increased by 160%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2017, there were 13 homes sold, with a median sale price of $157,500 - a 0.9% decrease over the $158,900 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were five homes sold in Peotone in the first quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Peotone for 2017 was $3,903.64. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,808.50. This marks an increase of 2.5%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.5%.
