City of Joliet issued the following announcement on Feb. 22.
Wipes, even those labeled flushable, can cause major problems in the sewer system. Not all wipes degrade quickly enough resulting in the clogging of sewer pipes and pumps which can cause sewer back-ups. Help us out my putting all wipes in the trash. For more information contact the Department of Public Utilities at 815-724-4220.
