City of Joliet issued the following announcement on Feb. 5.
Ice Storm Warning in effect for the Joliet area from 6 PM Tuesday to 6 AM Wednesday. Expect roads to be extremely icy and dangerous. Roadways crews will treat all roadways ahead of the anticipated event and be on the roadways during the icing event. Freezing rain is expected to change over to rain sometime after midnight.
