Coach Jaworski accepted and thanked the Mayor and Council for their recognition.

The City Clerk stated no action will be taken on this item this evening.

Steve Jones, Economic Development Director/Deputy City Manager, introduced Jeff Dickinson with S.B. Friedman and Company.

Mr. Dickinson gave a presentation regarding the proposed Silver Cross Redevelopment Project Area Tax Increment Financing District Eligibility Study and Redevelopment Plan and Project.

The City Clerk advised that this is a Public Hearing so any public comments would be in order at this time.

Mayor O’Dekirk opened the Public Hearing and asked if there were any comments.

Geoff Tryon, Vice President of Operations at Silver Cross Hospital, read a letter into the record on behalf of John Greuling with Will County CED supporting the Proposed Silver Cross Redevelopment Project Area Tax Increment Financing District Eligibility Study and Redevelopment Plan and Project.

Margie Woods spoke on behalf of Silver Cross Healthy Commission Community and in favor of the Proposed Silver Cross Redevelopment Project Area Tax Increment Financing District Eligibility Study and Redevelopment Plan and Project.

No additional public comments were made; therefore, the City Clerk closed the Public Hearing.

XI. CITY MANAGER:

The City Manager recognized Jim Trizna, Director of Public Works, for receiving the 2018 Samuel A. Greeley Award at the American Public Works Association (APWA) Southwest Branch of the Chicago Metro Chapter awards ceremony on January 9, 2019.He briefly discussed becoming more involved state legislation matters. He reminded everyone City Hall is closed on Monday, January 21, 2019 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr.

XIII. PUBLIC COMMENTS:

Sam Bluemer, Energy and Conservation Specialist for Will County, thanked the Mayor and Council for their endorsement of COUNCIL MEMO #20-19: Resolution Endorsing the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus Greenest Region Compact.

John Sheridan spoke regarding the City of Joliet public speaking ordinance.

XIV. MAYOR AND COUNCIL COMMENTS:

Councilman Dickinson briefly discussed the East Side Neighborhood meeting and supporting the Rialto movie nights beginning this Thursday.

Councilwoman Gavin highlighted Martin Luther King, Jr. events.

Councilman Hug wished everyone Happy New Year.

Councilman Morris briefly discussed the East Side Neighborhood meeting.

Councilwoman Quillman highlighted the City's use of the EverBridge notification system. She discussed a request for a welcome to Joliet sign near Caton Farm Road and Grove Road. She also discussed yard waste pick up.

Councilman Turk briefly discussed parking concerns on Ruby Street between Center Street and Cora Street.

Mayor O'Dekirk thanked Joe Strong and Dominic Orlando for their service on the Plan Commission and the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. He highlighted the grand opening of Cut 158. He wished his wife happy birthday.
