City of Wilmington issued the following announcement on Dec. 27.
The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect until 6 PM CST /7 PM EST/ this
evening.
* TIMING.Through early evening.
* WINDS.South to southeast gusts in excess of 45 to 50 mph are
likely, before diminishing by early evening.
* IMPACTS.Difficult travel for high profile vehicles. Loose
objects will be blown about. Minor damage to tree limbs are
possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS.
A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph and/or wind
gusts of 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving
difficult.especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra
caution.
