Lewis University star guard Kendale McCullum has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 19.
McCullum, a graduate student for the Flyers, scored 25 points to go with seven rebounds, six assists and four steals in a 76-73 win over then-14th ranked Findlay on Dec. 19. On that night, he shot a blistering 9-for-19 from the floor and was 7-for-8 at the foul line.
The 6'1", 165-pound slasher netted 12 of his game-high points in the fourth quarter, including a pair of critical free throws with just over eight seconds remaining.
"I'm happy for Kendale," Lewis men's basketball head coach Scott Trost told LewisFlyers.com. "He's very deserving of this award. Aside from his stats, he is an extension of a coach on the floor. He was a calming influence on the floor this week when Findlay was making a run. He just has a refuse to lose attitude."
McCullum presently tops the GLVC in assists per game at 6.9 and is ranks eighth in both scoring and rebounding.
