Robert Morris University-Illinois men’s soccer star Max Never has been named to the NAIA District 2 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Soccer Team.
The 6-1 senior forward from Munich, Germany, recently posted a 3.81 grade point average while leading Robert Morris (8-7-1) to the school’s first post-season appearance in six seasons, according to the school's website.
Never's 10 goals topped the team in scoring. Three of his scores came against Calumet College of St. Joseph on Oct. 10, earning him Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District Men's squad is separated into four divisions (NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA), with selections automatically advanced to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot. Voting for first, second and third-team All-American status is set to take place during November.
The Eagles’ advanced to the quarterfinal round of the CCAC playoffs earlier this month before bowing out to Saint Xavier 3-2 in overtime.
