Sports2

The Plainfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame recently enshrined three new members as part of its 20th class.

Danielle Belobravdich, Ryan Prater and Michael Smith, all grads of Plainfield Central High, were inducted during the Oct. 6 weekend of festivities that culminated with the trio being recognized at halftime of the Wildcats homecoming game against Joliet West.

A 2006 graduate, Belobraydich owns the distinction of being the school’s first female state champion, posting a 2,640 total to win the state bowling title as a junior, according to the Herald-News. Belobraydich returned for her senior season to finish third in the state, making her the program’s first two-time medal winner.

Wrestling at 135 pounds, Prater won the Class 2A championship in 2007. Ultimately, he became the school’s first three-time medal winner, finishing second at 125 pounds in 2006 and fifth at 112 pounds in 2005. Overall, Prater finished his career with 169 victories, a school record at that time.

Meanwhile, Smith joins siblings Chris and Stacey as Plainfield hall of famers, finishing fourth in Class 2A at 140 pounds in back-to-back seasons beginning in 2005. Smith finished his career with 159 wins and rates as one of only four Wildcats to win two or more state trophies.
