City of Joliet issued the following announcement on July 24.
As part of the work associated with the construction of the Joliet Park District’s Nowell Park Community Center, U.S. Route 52 (Gardner Street) from Doris Avenue to Mills Road will be closed beginning Wednesday, July 25, 2018. A detour route utilizing Chicago Street (IL Route 53) and Mills Road will be posted It is expected that the work will be completed and the road reopened by Saturday, July 28, 2018.
Drivers are advised to exercise caution and seek alternate routes when traveling in the area. For additional information contact the City of Joliet Department of Public Works at 815-724-4200.
