Lockport Fire Protection District responded to 822 calls in 2017 - 41.4 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Lockport included 137 fires - 72 structure fires, eight vehicle fires and 57 other fires. The fire department also responded to four calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $387,000 in fire loss - or about $2,825 per fire.

The department also received 681 false calls, including 13 malicious calls and 668 other false calls.

The Lockport Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $24,486,699 in 2017.
