Crete Fire Department responded to 107 calls in 2017 - 31 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Crete included 16 fires - nine structure fires, four vehicle fires and three other fires.

In all, the department saw $102,500 in fire loss - or about $6,406 per fire.

The department also received 91 false calls, including three malicious calls and 88 other false calls.

The Crete Fire Department had an annual budget of $2,185,753 in 2017.
