Corporation Counsel requested Council Memo #321-18: Ordinance Adding Chapter 20, Conditions Detrimental to Health – Public Nuisance, Article I, Nuisances, Division 3, Feeding of Wild Animals and Waterfowl (Regulations on the Feeding of Wild Animals and Waterfowl) be removed from the Agenda for further review.

VI. Council Committee Reports:

A. Economic Development

Councilman Hug stated the Economic Development Committee met on June 14, 2018 and discussed the Redevelopment Agreement for 22 E. Clinton, Lois Joliet Apartments.

B. Finance

Councilman Turk stated the Finance Committee met this evening at 5:30 p.m. to review the 2017 Annual Treasurer's Report, 12 year analysis of the Interest Income, Public Safety salaries and overtime, and the Riverwalk financials for April 2018. He stated the Committee also reviewed the monthly Financial Report, Personnel Summary, Travel Expense Report, Invoices Paid and found them all to be in order and recommended their approval.

C. Land Use and Legislative

Councilman Morris stated the Land Use Committee met June 6, 2018 to discuss several inquiries for a Clean Construction Demolition Debris facility in Joliet, ordinance amendment request for electric security fence as a theft deterrent, and a gun shop moratorium.

Marty Shanahan stated the Land Use Committee reviewed ordinances concerning feeding wild animals, abandon gas stations, parking, liquor code, and video gaming distributor fee.

D. Public Service

Councilman Hug stated the Public Service Committee met this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. to review the Washington Street bridge over Hickory Creek contract, removal of the alternate water source study, electronic supervisory control and data acquisition system for Public Utilities department, purchase parcels of land for water plant expansion, and a special use permit for a car wash.

City Manager discussed the cancellation of the June 27, 2018 open house meeting for the Houbolt Road toll-bridge project. This meeting is to be rescheduled sometime late July or August.

He reminded all the next Council Meeting will be on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park.

The City Manager discussed the extra efforts to clean up downtown after several successful events.

Denise Williams, President of Gold Star Mother's for the State of Illinois, spoke regarding the Send It/4TF Inaugural Softball Charity Tournament being held at Route 66 Stadium. Eddie West and Derrick Williams also addressed the Mayor and Council regarding the softball Tournament.

Jason Weathersby, General Manager of the new Joliet Thunder Football Team, introduced himself and invited everyone to attend the team's first home game at Joliet Memorial Stadium on July 30, 2018.

Erica Holmes introduced "Including You" a family fun festival July 28, 2018 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Herb Brooks, Jr. and Denise Winfrey thanked Mayor, Council, and staff on behalf of the Will County legislative body for the City's partnership with the County.

XV. Mayor And Council Comments:

Councilman Dickinson discussed the City's involvement in the IHSA Boy's Baseball Tournament. He highlighted the upcoming Taste of Joliet this weekend.

Councilwoman Gavin highlighted MyGrain's Blues, Brews, and Chews.

Councilman Hug highlighted the events downtown.

Councilman Mudron also discussed the IHSA Boy's Baseball Tournament.

Mayor O'Dekirk also discussed the IHSA Boy's Baseball Tournament. He highlighted the Gateway Center Train Station ribbon cutting, New Orleans North, Paws on Route 66, Little League opening at the Spanish Center, and Rock the Block.
