Village of Plainfield Committee of the Whole met May 14.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

Mayor Collins called the meeting to order at 7:25 p.m. Board Present: Trustee Newton, Trustee O' Rourke, Trustee Wojowski, Trustee Bonuch, and Trustee Lamb. Board absent: Trustee Larson. Others present: Brian Murphy, Administrator; Michelle Gibas, Village Clerk; Doug Kissel, Wastewater Superintendent; Jon Proulx, Planning Director; Ken Goska, Building Official; and Anthony Novak, Police Commander. There were approximately 32 persons in the audience.

Trustee Bonuchi moved to approve the Minutes of the Committee of the Whole Workshop and Executive Sessions held on April 23, 2018. Second by Trustee O' Rourke. Voice Vote. All in favor, 0 opposed. Motion carried.

Presidential Comments:

Mr. Rob Epley and members of the Riverfront Foundation unveiled interpretive signage that will be placed on Lockport Street.

Workshop:

1)Historic Preservation Commission Presentation

Mr. Michael Bortel, Chairman of the Historic Preservation Commission, gave a presentation highlighting Landmarks, National Register Designation, Downtown Historic District, East Side Historic District. Mr. Bortel presented a landmark designation plaque to Ralph & Shirely Rouse, and pointed out that the Herbst property at 15003 S. IL Route 59 will be added to the East Side Historic District. Mr. Bortel also presented the following 2018 Preservation Awards:

•24216 W. Lockport—Aurora, Plainfield & Joliet Maintenance ( 1904) - Rehabilitation of the Year

•24030 W. Lockport— Fraser& Smiley Grocer ( 1877) - Rehabilitation ofthe Year

•24044 W. Lockport—John Bayles Bldg. ( 1892) - Rehabilitation of the Year

•14907 S. Bartlett Ave. —Heath Wright & Michelle Kelly ( 1890) - Architectural Details

•15022 S. Bartlett Ave. —Barb & Leif Hendricksen ( 1897) - Landscape

Mayor Collins thanked everyone and read the reminders.

Trustee Lamb moved to adjourn to Executive Session as permitted under the Open Meetings Act, under Section 2( c)( 6) to discuss the sale or lease of public property, not to reconvene. Second by Trustee Bonuchi. Vote by roll call. Larson, absent; Newton, yes; O' Rourke, yes; Wojowski, yes; Bonuchi, yes; Lamb, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, 1 absent. Motion carried.

The meeting adjourned at 8: 09 p.m.
