Report: Plainfield spent $9,794 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Plainfield School District 202 is up 7 percent from five years ago, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Will County school district spent $9,124 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,794 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 28726 to 27461.

Plainfield's spending in 2016-17 was 25 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
