Alyssia Benford is quickly becoming one of the 98th District’s most familiar faces.

And the Bolingbrook Republican is making a point of documenting as much of her travels and interactions with would-be constituents across the district as she can.

“Today I had the pleasure of meeting Adam Andrzejewski, CEO/Founder - http://OpenTheBooks.com and leader of The Open-Government Movement,” Benford recently posted on Twitter alongside the hashtag #TransparencyInAction.

Benford also recently posted news of her attendance at the National Day of Prayer breakfast in Bolingbrook, where she reflected in a post “God is always in control.”

Benford also posted news of her taking part in a recent Lincoln Day Dinner, where she wrote, “I had the opportunity to share why my experience as a CPA and my doctoral studies on pensions, property taxes and education funding can help the State of Illinois. We have to work together for a brighter future.”

Benford is also busy urging all her supporters to turn out in masse June 6, when she will host a fundraiser at the Mistwood Golf Club in Romeoville starting at 6 p.m.

Tickets for the two-hour event are $35 per person and $50 per couple, according to the post. Listed hosts include Reps. Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield), Margo McDermed (R-Mokena), Grant Wehrli (R-Naperville) and David Allen Welter (R-Morris).

Benford is set to face Rep. Natalie Manley (D-Joliet) in the 98th District in November’s general election.

“I am running to represent the families of our community and to be a voice,” she recently told the Times Weekly. “We need representatives in Springfield that are effective and represent the needs of our community."

The 98th District covers all or parts of Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Joliet, Plainfield, Crest Hill and Naperville.
