Regular Business Action Items

Resolution authorizing the City Attorney to intervene in Property Tax Assessment Appeal Proceedings/Resolution No. 18-013

City Attorney, Sonni Williams, presented the details on tax appeal cases. By statute, Sonni needs to appear before the Tax Review Board under specific circumstances. Seeking approval of the resolution.

Motion To Approve Resolution No. 18-013/A Resolution Authorizing The City Attorney To Intervene In Property Tax Assessment Appeal Proceedings Before The Will County Board Of Review, The Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board, And Any Courts Of Competent Jurisdiction, Made By Deskin, Seconded By Petrakos. Roll Call Vote On The Motion:

Nays - None

Adoption of the City of Lockport Official Zoning Map/Ordinance No. 18-017

Director of Community & Economic Development, Pamela Hirth, presented the annual update to the zoning map. Pamela provided the list of updates; seeking motion to approve the ordinance to authorize and update the official zoning map.

Motion To Approve Ordinance No. 18-017/An Ordinance Adopting And Authorizing The Publication Of The Updated City Of Lockport Official Zoning Map, Made By Petrakos, Seconded By Perretta.

New Business:

Alderman Jim Petrakos introduced the topic of Lockport to consider hiring a Purchasing Agent that would be shared among neighboring cities. The Intergovernmental League has this type of employee; it offers value and has the potential to save money. Lisa Heglund will conduct some analysis on this topic and provide an update to Council at a future date.

Action: No formal action at this time.
