Republican Lisa Bickus, a self-described "seasoned business executive," is looking to unseat incumbent Rep. John Connor (D-Lockport) in the 85th District House race.
Bickus "wants to continue to make a difference in Illinois for her constituents" in her run for the seat, according to her campaign website.
She is the CEO of National Catholic Society of Foresters, a $173 million life insurance and annuity company in Mount Prospect, and has spent more than 20 years in the financial industry, including in executive positions, her website states.

Bickus says on the site that her most rewarding responsibility as a businesswoman is to "lead teams with individuals (who) are intelligent, dedicated and passionate to make a difference in everything they do."
She also participates in the community, serving as a school board member at Lockport Township High School and volunteering with several organizations, her website says. She is also a member of the Lockport Woman's Club and the Lockport Rotary Club.
Connor has served in the Illinois House since June 2017 and is a member of the Approp-Elementary and Secondary Education, Economic Opportunity, Aging and Judiciary-Criminal committees.
He spent nearly 20 years as a criminal prosecutor at the Will County State's Attorney's Office before being elected to the House.
