Analysis: Mokena pays $5.30 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Mokena Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.1 percent of the $1,599,476 the Mokena Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.30 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Mokena contributed $1,345,938 to the fund, which saw a $607,357 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $253,539, or 15.9 percent, in 2016.
