City of Wilmington Buildings, Grounds, Parks, Health & Safety Committee met November 15.

The meeting of the Buildings, Grounds, Parks, Health & Safety Committee was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Alderman Persic.

Previous Meeting Minutes

The minutes were reviewed. Alderman Evans made a motion and Alderman Butler seconded to accept October 11, 2017 and November 1, 2017 Committee meeting minutes as presented and have them placed on file.

Upon voice vote, THE MOTION CARRIED, unanimously

Trees in the Parks

Alderman Evans expressed his concerns about the condition and safety of the trees in the South Island Park. There are approximately twenty-six dead tress in the South Island Park. Alderman Evans requested that some of the money from the sale of the old Wilmington Police Department be used to improve the South Island and North Island Parks. Mayor Strong stated that some of the money (at least $5,000) would be designated for park improvements. Mayor Strong would like to see permanent bathrooms on both parks.

Adjournment

With no further business before the Committee, Alderman Persic made a motion and it was seconded by Alderman Evans to adjourn. Upon voice vote, THE MOTION CARRIED unanimously and the meeting was adjourned at 5:47 p.m.
