Rep. Margo McDermed's (R-Mokena) is inviting residents of the 37th House District to shed themselves of unwanted paperwork via shredding at a free event on Saturday, Sept. 16, according to a press release.
Shark Shredding has again been enlisted by McDermed, who relied on the business last year to help people destroy sensitive documents.
"A shred truck is a quick and easy process that will be helpful to many who have documents they don’t feel comfortable casually throwing away," McDermed said.

The event will run from 9 to 11 a.m. at 11032 W. Lincoln Highway. Shredding is limited to two boxes or bags of documents per vehicle. Volunteers will be on hand to assist with unloading containers.
"I encourage all of my constituents to take advantage of this great opportunity to safely and securely dispose of sensitive documents as a way to help prevent identity theft," McDermed said.
