Kaylee Prieto caught another honor recently.
The Lewis University outfielder was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's All-Midwest Region Softball second team, the school's athletic website announced.
Last season, the junior from Chicago and graduate of Marist High School, Prieto was third in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) in batting average at .407 and doubles with 16, fifth in hits with 70, and tied for fifth in runs with 42.
Prieto also led the Flyers in slugging percentage at .622, on-base percentage at .466, total bases with 107 and triples with three.
This spring, Prieto also was one of three Flyers who earned All-GLVC honors, being placed on the first team. Dara Sanders, a sophomore pitcher from Crestwood, Illinois, and graduate of Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School, was selected for the second team, and Carly Jaworski, a senior shortstop from Lemont, made the third team.
