Lewis outside hitter Ryan Coenen recently received two honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Coenen, a redshirt freshman from Franklin, Wisconsin, was placed on the AVCA All-America Second Team and was named the organization's Newcomer of the Year.
Coenen was second on the Flyers with 342 kills and averaged 3.2 kills per set this season.
Also for Lewis, three Flyers received AVCA All-America Honorable Mention status: Mitch Perinar, a redshirt sophomore opposite hitter from Channahon; Michael Simmons, a redshirt sophomore libero from Aurora; and Matt Yoshimoto, a sophomore setter from Ventura, California.
Perinar led the team with 359 kills, Simmons had the most digs in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association with 257, and Yoshimoto keyed a team hitting percentage of .308, which is the seventh-best mark in program history.
The Flyers posted a 23-7 overall record and reached the semifinals of the MIVA Tournament.
