To score sponsors for its Sugar Grove golf classic set for Aug. 10, the Fox Valley Marine Corps League is calling for fundraising backers, offering tickets and providing several opportunities for sponsorship levels.
The tournament — the league’s 7th Annual Golf Classic — is slated for Bliss Creek Golf Course at 1 Golfview Lane in Sugar Grove, with tee-off beginning at noon, followed by dinner, awards and raffles at 5 p.m. Individual tickets are available for a $50 donation, while corporate and hole sponsorships are also up for grabs.
Fox Valley Marines maintain an active fellowship, and participate in local events such as parades and farmer’s markets. Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner is returning this year in his role as the event’s honorary chairman.
All profits from the event will benefit veterans’ organizations supported by the Marine Corps League as well as two local food pantries: the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry and Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry.
The Aurora pantry organization was founded in 1981 to provide food to individuals and families in need, while the Wilkinson pantry group benefits Kane County citizens of low- to moderate-income levels.
