Braidwood City Council holds special meeting to discuss status of city administrator

Braidwood City Council met Friday, May 27 to discuss status of city administrator.

The board of trustees provides oversight, guidance and governance for the city of Braidwood.

Call to Order

Mayor Vehrscalled the meeting to order at 6:00pm.

Pledge of Allegiance

Mayor Vehrs asked Comm. Hutton to lead everyone in the pledge of allegiance.

Roll Call

Elected Officials present: Commissioner Hibler, Commissioner Hutton, Commissioner Tessler, and Mayor Vehrs were present. Comm. Smith was absent.

Appointed officials present: City Attorney Matt Campbelland City Clerk Sue Grygiel were present.

Public Comment

Mayor opened and closed public comment at 6:01pm.

Executive Session

Comm. Hutton made a motion to go into Executive Session to discuss personnel, seconded by Comm. Tessler. Motion approved 4 ayes, 0 nays (Hutton, Tessler, Hibler& Mayor Vehrs). 1 Absent- Comm. Smith.

Amotion was made by Comm. Hutton, seconded by Comm. Tessler to reconvene our Special Meeting at 7:07pm. Motion approved 4 ayes, 0 nays (Hutton, Tessler, Hibler& Mayor Vehrs). 1 Absent- Comm. Smith.

REPORT BY CITY OFFICIAL

Mayor-Mayor Vehrs addressed his agenda item, seeking a motion to dismiss current City Administrator Andy Galatte.

A motion was made by Comm. Hutton to dismiss our current Administrator, seconded by Comm. Tessler. Mayor asked for discussion. Motion approved 4 ayes, 0 nays (Hutton, Tessler, Hibler & Mayor Veers). 1 Absent-Comm. Smith

Mayor Vehrs addressed his next agenda item seeking a motion to approve Resolution 16-14, Execution of a Letter of Understanding with IDOT.

A motion was made by Comm. Hutton to approve Resolution 16-14 subject to Attorney & Engineers Review and Comments, seconded by Comm. Hibler. Mayor asked for discussion. Motion approved 4 ayes, 0 nays (Hutton, Hibler, Tessler & Mayor Vehrs). 1 Absent-Comm. Smith

Adjournment

Comm. Tesslermademotion to adjourn this Special Meeting, seconded by Comm.Hutton. Motion approved with 4 ayes, 0 nays (Tessler, Hutton,Hibler& Mayor Vehrs). 1 Absent-Comm. Smith
