In the week ending Jan. 3, one gas station in Will County sold diesel gas at the lowest reported price of $3.11 per gallon, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
The county registered an average of $3.53 per gallon for diesel gas.
Will County had 121 of 220 reported gas stations offering diesel gas.
The statewide average price of diesel gas in Illinois was $3.61 per gallon for the week ending Jan. 3, a decrease from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
