Western Illinois falls 7-6 to Illinois State in Division I baseball matchup

Former Lincoln-Way Central High School standout Harrison Dubois and the Western Illinois Leathernecks came up short, losing 7-6 to the Illinois State Redbirds in their NCAA Division I baseball contest at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 14.

The matchup, hosted at Duffy Bass Field, marked their third meeting with the Redbirds this season. In their Friday, March 13 contest, Western Illinois also lost 7-6.

Dubois pitched 3.2 innings, giving up one earned run while walking three batters and striking out four.

Western Illinois’ next scheduled game is set for Sunday, March 15, at 1 p.m. at Duffy Bass Field against the Illinois State Redbirds.
