Village of New Lenox Board of Trustees met Feb. 9.

CALL TO ORDER

The Regular Meeting of the New Lenox Village Board of Trustees was called to order at 7:00p.m. by Mayor Baldermann in the Council Chambers of the New Lenox Village Hall.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

ROLL CALL

Upon Roll Call by the Deputy Clerk, the following members of the corporate authorities answered “Here” or “Present”:

Trustees Wilson, Madsen, Reiser, Christopherson, Gugliuzza and Mayor Baldermann

Absent – Trustee Scalise

QUORUM

There being a sufficient number of members of the corporate authorities in attendance to constitute a quorum, the meeting was declared in order.

OTHER OFFICIALS IN ATTENDANCE

Also, in attendance were the Village Administrator Kurt Carroll, Village Clerk Laura Zilinskas, Deputy Clerk Jinny Grove, Community Development Director/Assistant Village Administrator Robin Ellis, Finance Director Kim Auchstetter, Public Works Director Mark Brow and Attorney Mike Sanchi

CONSENT AGENDA

Motion to approve the 5 Items on the #26-04 Consent Agenda was made by Trustee Madsen and seconded by Trustee Gugliuzza

A – Minutes of the Regular Meeting – January 26, 2026

B – Ordinance #3238 Proposing Special Service Area – Spencer Meadows

C – Ordinance #3239 Authorizing the Disposal of Surplus Property and Authorizing a Letter of Agreement with the Village of Markham to Purchase said Surplus (2) Lawn Mowers

D – Resolution #26-11 Objecting to the Rezoning of Certain Property Located in Unincorporated Will County within One and One-Half Miles of the Corporate Boundaries – Vacant Land on South Parker Road, Mokena

E – Proclamation – Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 6 Trustees Wilson, Madsen, Christopherson, Reiser, Gugliuzza and Mayor Baldermann

ABSTAIN: 0

NAYS: 0

ABSENT: 1 Trustee Scalise

The motion carried.

ORDER OF BUSINESS

Consideration for Approval of a Contract – Turf Mowing & Lawn Maintenance

Mr. Brow reported Staff opened 6 bids on February 2nd for the 2026 turf mowing and lawn maintenance. The lowest bid was from Romero Guzman Landscaping in the amount of $185,477.53. Mayor Baldermann asked why there was such a big spread with regards to the amounts. Mr. Brow stated it is like that every year. Mayor Baldermann asked if he was comfortable with the reference checks. Mr. Brow said the references that were contacted all spoke very highly of this company.

Motion to approve the contract was made by Trustee Christopherson and seconded by Trustee Madsen

AYES: 6 Trustees Wilson, Madsen, Christopherson, Reiser, Gugliuzza and Mayor Baldermann

NAYS: 0

ABSENT: 1 Trustee Scalise

The motion carried.

Consideration for Approval of a Contract – Tinley Park Pump Station Piping Painting

Mr. Brow reported Staff received only one quote for the Tinley Park Pump Station piping painting. Era Valdivia, who had done the Spencer Road tank, submitted a quote in the amount of $24,980.00. Mr. Brow requested Board approval.

Motion to approve the contract was made by Trustee Christopherson and seconded by Trustee Reiser

AYES: 6 Trustees Wilson, Madsen, Christopherson, Reiser, Gugliuzza and Mayor Baldermann

ABSTAIN: 0

NAYS: 0

ABSENT: 1 Trustee Scalise

The motion carried.

REPORTS AND COMMUNICATION FROM VILLAGE OFFICIALS MAYOR

PAYROLL & DISBURSEMENTS

Trustee Madsen made the motion to approve our bi-monthly disbursements in the amount of $4,159,514.54 In addition to these disbursements, approval is needed for a payroll in the amount of $574,511.81 paid on February 6th, 2026.

Trustee Christopherson seconded the motion

Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 6 Trustees Wilson, Madsen, Christopherson, Reiser, Gugliuzza and Mayor Baldermann

ABSTAIN: 0

NAYS: 0

ABSENT: 1 Trustee Scalise

The motion carried.

Motion to adjourn the meeting made by Trustee Gugliuzza and seconded by Trustee Christopherson. Upon voice vote, the motion carried. The Regular Meeting of the Village of New Lenox Board of Trustees held on February 9, 2026 adjourned at 7:07pm.
