The awards just keep racking up for Lewis University soccer star Kailey Parnello.
Just days after being named first-team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), Parnello has been selected for the United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region second team.
Parnello led the Flyers this season in shots with 83 and was tied for the league lead with four game-winning goals. She also ranked near the top for Lewis in goals (8), points (18) and points per game (1.00), earning GLVC Offensive Player of the Week honors earlier in the year following back-to-back wins over Bellarmine and Drury where she scored the game-winning goal in both games.
"I am really happy for Kailey that she was recognized as one of the best in the region," Lewis women's soccer head coach Chris Koenig told the school’s website. "She is an impact player and really stepped into that role for us this year. She has worked extremely hard to take her game to a new level.”
On the year, the Flyers finished at 9-7-2 and 8-5 in the GLVC, advancing to the postseason.
