City of Lockport issued the following announcement on May 29.

The City of Lockport will kick off summer with its annual Old Canal Days Festival, Thursday, June 14 through Sunday, June 17 in downtown Lockport. This family-friendly event starts Thursday when the carnival comes to town! On Friday evening, we will have a parade followed by rockin’ entertainment in the main tent. Please note – the parade route has been changed FOR THIS YEAR ONLY due to the construction project on State Street! Please visit www.oldcanaldays.com to see a map of this year’s parade route.

Saturday and Sunday will offer a huge craft show with over 100 vendors, live bands in beer/wine tent, food trucks, bingo, car show, petting zoo, theater performances, magic show, cemetery tours, history tours & exhibits, plus much more. You can also see the “What’s It Worth Antique Show” on Lincoln Landing on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. So, if you are looking to have an antique or heirloom appraised, just go to the large tent on the north side of Lincoln Landing. There will be several antique vendors on site as well. Then, on Sunday morning we will have a worship service in the main tent with a bean bag tournament and craft beer tasting to follow shortly after.

Please keep in mind that the Heritage Village area at 2nd & State will have more family-friendly activities, sponsored by the Will County Historical Society and Midwest Soarring, including a petting zoo, Native American exhibits and crafts, tours through the historic buildings, and even Deshka, the American Bald Eagle will be there.
