City of Joliet issued the following announcement on May 11.
As part of the continued work on the Joliet Gateway Center transportation campus, the pedestrian bridge linking the new train station to the Rock Island platform will be closed for painting beginning Monday, May 14, 2018.
One lane of Mayor Art Schultz Drive below the bridge will remain open to allow traffic around the paint enclosure as controlled by a flagger each day. Elevator access is available at the Eastern Avenue end of the platform. It is anticipated that this work will be completed in two weeks, depending upon weather conditions.
