New Lenox Plan Commission amends special use permit

The village of New Lenox Plan Commission met Jan. 6 to amend a special use permit.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the commission:

The Plan Commission monitors developments and planning trends and makes recommendations to the Village Board for policy and legislation.

MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE

VILLAGE OF NEW LENOX PLAN COMMISSION

Held in the New Lenox Village Hall, 1 Veterans Parkway

Tuesday, December 6, 2016 7:00 p.m.

CALL TO ORDER

A regular meeting of the Village of New Lenox Plan Commission was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Mark Muehlnickel.

Chairman Muehlnickel led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL

Upon roll call, the following were present: Chairman Mark Muehlnickel, Commissioners Gary Berner, Rob Moss, Terry Schultz, Kathy Hilton, Jasen Howard, and Andrew Hawkins.

The following were absent: None.

Mr. Muehlnickel announced there was a quorum present for this meeting.

Also present were Senior Planner Jeff Smith, Planner Jenni Neubauer and Senior Administrative Secretary Patricia Hansen.

REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF A REGULAR PLAN COMMISSION MEETING OF NOVEMBER 1, 2016

A motion was made by Commissioner Howard and seconded by Commissioner Schultz to approve the November 1, 2016 minutes as presented, with Commissioner Hawkins abstaining. Voice vote was taken. Motion carried.

REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF A FINAL P.U.D. PLAT 2ND Re-Subdivision of Century Oaks Subdivision 10.13 acres located at the southeast corner of Cedar Crossings Drive and private roadway for Century Oaks Subdivision Randi Schullo – Alden Realty Services / Petitioner

Chairman Muehlnickel asked for a motion to continue this request to the next Plan Commission meeting.

A motion was made by Commissioner Howard and seconded by Commissioner Schultz to continue this request to the December 20, 2016 Plan Commission meeting. Voice vote was taken. Motion carried.

REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT TO SPECIAL USE FOR A FINAL P.U.D. PLAT (Public Hearing) Cedar Crossings Unit 1 112.76-acre site located south of the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and Cedar Crossings Drive and west of Cedar Road Randi Schullo / Alden Realty Services – Petitioner

Due to improper proof of notice, Chairman Muehlnickel said he would like a motion to open the public hearing and a motion to continue the public hearing to the next Plan Commission meeting.

A motion was made by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Hilton to open the public hearing at 7:03 p.m. Voice vote was taken. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Commissioner Berner and seconded by Commissioner Howard to continue the public hearing to the December 20, 2016 Plan Commission meeting. Voice vote was taken. Motion carried.

REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF SPECIAL USE FOR A PRELIMINARY P.U.D. PLAT (Public Hearing) Alden Estates – Courts of New Lenox 6.64 acres located south of the southeast corner of Cedar Crossings Drive and private roadway for Century Oaks Subdivision Randi Schullo / Alden Realty Services – Petitioner

Due to improper proof of notice, Chairman Muehlnickel said he would like a motion to open the public hearing and a motion to continue the public hearing to the next Plan Commission meeting.

A motion was made by Commissioner Hawking and seconded by Commissioner Howard to open the public hearing at 7:05 p.m. Voice vote was taken. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Moss to continue the public hearing to the December 20, 2016 Plan Commission meeting. Voice vote was taken. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

None.

NEW BUSINESS

At this time, Chairman Muehlnickel welcomed Andrew Hawkins to the Plan Commission.

As all requests on tonight’s Plan Commission agenda have been continued to the December 20, 2016 meeting, Senior Planner Smith requested that everyone keep their packets from tonight’s meeting. Mr. Smith asked that if anyone cannot make the December 20th meeting to let Staff know as soon as possible.

Chairman Muehlnickel asked Commissioner Berner if he will be wintering in Florida next year. Commissioner Berner replied that he is not sure at this time, but that he will definitely be here the month of January.

Chairman Muehlnickel asked for a motion to adjourn.

A motion was made by Commissioner Howard and seconded by Commissioner Hawkins to adjourn. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
