Romeoville Board of Trustees met Wednesday, June 8.

The board meets at 6:10 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of the month in the board room at

Village Hall, 1050 W. Romeo Road.

1. CALL TO ORDER

Roll Call

Trustee Jose Chavez, Trustee Linda Palmiter, Trustee Ken Griffin, Trustee Dave Richards, Trustee Sue A. Micklevitz, Trustee Brian A. Clancy Sr., and Mayor John Noak

A motion was made by Griffin, seconded by Richards, to do a consent agenda.

The motion carried by the following vote:

Non-voting: 1 - Mayor Noak

Approval of the Consent Agenda

5. MAYOR'S REPORT

Thanks to all who attended the Memorial Day Service. Thanks to Congressman Dan Lipinski for joining us. Thanks also to Trustee Richards for emceeing and to Trustee Griffin for his wonderful speech.

Join us for Rockin the Ville on Thursday beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Congratulations to the Valley View Enrichment Foundation on their successful golf outing.

The RHS Athletic Boosters is having their golf outing on Friday.

Isle A La Cache will be holding their Island Rendevous on Saturday from 11:00-3:00.

The first Movie Under the Stars will be held on June 17th.

The June 15th Village Board meeting has been cancelled.

Congratulations to his wife on her new job.

6. CLERK'S REPORT

Congratulations to the Citizen's Police Academy graduates.

The next meeting of the Community Service Council will be held on June 21st at 6:30 p.m. at the CSC office.

The Valley View Enrichment Foundation was very well attended. Trustee Griffin's speech on Memorial Day was very inspiring.

7. CITIZEN'S, COMMITTEES, COMMISSIONS AND LIAISON REPORTS

Trustee Micklevitz-Youth Outreach/Green Team/Uptown Square

The Village is working with Will County for electronics recycling options.

The Youth Outreach Commission met on Monday. Discussions were held on the Costume Ball planning. The next meeting will be September 12th.

There is a lot of exciting progress being made in the Uptown Square.

Trustee Richards-Planning and Zoning/Zoning Board of Appeals/REMA

No report.

Trustee Clancy-Beautification/Parks and Recreation

The Home of the Month judging will be taking place throughout the summer.

A Recreation update was given.

Trustee Griffin-Veteran's Commission/EDC

EDC will meet on June 28th.

The next Veteran's Commission meeting will be July 9th. On June 24th and 25th the Commission will be fundraising at Tasty Waffle for the scholarship fund.

Trustee Palmiter-Finance/Humane Society/Special Events

The next Special Events meeting will be July 12th at the Rec Center.

A Finance update was given.

Trustee Chavez-Police and Fire Commission/VorTv

VorTv is looking for volunteers.

8. VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT

There will be a Special Meeting on June 21st.

He introduced Mike Shirhay who is one of our interns.

Trustee Griffin's speech on Memorial Day was very touching.

9. NEW BUSINESS

A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Chavez, to do a consent agenda for all New Business. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Trustee Chavez, Trustee Palmiter, Trustee Griffin, Trustee Richards, Trustee Micklevitz, and Trustee Clancy

Senior Star at Weber Place donated nearly 1,000 handmade blankets to area hospitals.

The high school teachers and students participated in a Google Expedition Program. The kids loved it.

Looking forward to our first concert.

SRA will hold a golf outing on June 23rd. All the funds raised stays in the area.

A motion was made by Trustee Palmiter, seconded by Trustee Griffin, to return to the Regular Meeting at 7:21 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Trustee Chavez, Trustee Palmiter, Trustee Griffin, Trustee Richards, Trustee Micklevitz, and Trustee Clancy

Non-voting: 1 - Mayor Noak

12. ADJOURNMENT

A motion was made by Trustee Clancy, seconded by Trustee Griffin, that this Meeting be Adjourned at 7:23 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Trustee Chavez, Trustee Palmiter, Trustee Griffin, Trustee Richards, Trustee Micklevitz, and Trustee Clancy
