Ruth D. Baker, formerly of Hometown, Illinois, and late of Mokena, Illinois, peacefully passed away. Beloved wife of the late Ray Baker, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Ron (MaryAnn, née Bennett) Baker, Rhonda Weisseg, and Rose (David) Rock. Cherished grandmother of Scott (Rebecca) Anderson, Lori (Scott) Mensik, Chuck (Jenna) Baker, Eric Weisseg, and Kim (Sean) Phillips. Proud great-grandmother of Trent Anderson, Drew Anderson, Jackson Mensik, Ava Phillips, Reese Mensik, Carson Baker, Chase Phillips, Quinn Baker, and Kade Phillips.

Ruth, originally from Muskegon, Michigan, moved to Chicago with Ray in 1952, where they raised their family in Hometown before their retirement and move to Mokena. An active member of Hometown Christian Church and the Welcome Wagon, Ruth also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an enthusiastic bowler well into her 90s.

A Memorial Visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 22, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until a time of family reflection and remembrance at 5:00 p.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Mokena, Illinois. Private Inurnment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
