Later that same day, Sheehan directly criticized Governor Pritzker’s rhetoric regarding protest activity and its impact on law enforcement officers. Sheehan was elected to the Illinois State House in 2024 after replacing former representative Tim Ozinga. In addition to his legislative duties, he is an active-duty law enforcement officer with nearly two decades of experience.
The recent comments come after reports of violence during demonstrations at the Broadview ICE facility in Illinois—a recurring flashpoint for protests related to immigration enforcement policies in the state.
