The Park Forest Youth Commission announced on March 16 that it will hold a Job Readiness Fair for teens and young adults on Saturday, March 21 at Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive. The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and aims to help young people prepare for employment by offering practical job search skills.

The fair is intended to support local youth as they enter the workforce, providing resources such as résumé building workshops, mock interviews, and advice on professional appearance. Organizers say these tools are especially valuable for those seeking their first job or looking to improve their job application skills.

Participants will have the chance to practice answering interview questions and receive feedback during mock interviews. The event also focuses on helping attendees gain confidence in presenting themselves professionally and communicating effectively during interviews.

According to the official website, Village of Park Forest promotes community health and engagement via dedicated commissions and programs. The village has received recognition for its sustainability efforts in town planning and community practices, according to the official website. In addition, Village of Park Forest aims to bolster economic conditions and deliver municipal services through collaboration and innovation, according to the official website.

Village of Park Forest operates under a council-manager government featuring a mayor and six trustees as its governing body, according to the official website. The village also shows leadership in sustainability by supporting the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Climate Protection Agreement, according to the official website. Educational opportunities are provided through its Civic Leadership Academy to address community issues, according to the official website.

Registration for the Job Readiness Fair is encouraged but not required. Those interested can register online or contact the Youth Commission at youthcommission@vopf.com for more information.
