Park Forest Trustees Theresa Settles, Maya Hardy, and Erin Slone were sworn in for new terms during a board meeting on Monday night. Each trustee took the Oath of Office before friends and family. Mayor Joseph A. Woods invited them to share their remarks afterward.

Trustee Settles, who has served since 2011, expressed gratitude to her supporters. “I remain humble and promise to serve the residents and the Village of Park Forest with integrity and selflessness, always prioritizing their interests,” she stated. She emphasized collaboration among residents, Village staff, and board members.

Trustee Hardy thanked her supporters as well and spoke about working collaboratively with the Board. “As we look to the future, I’m excited about the new opportunities and challenges that lie ahead,” she said. Hardy highlighted the importance of open governance.

Trustee Slone focused on future challenges facing the Village. “The path ahead will require us to tackle significant challenges,” she noted, emphasizing economic development and infrastructure investments.

Following additional comments from Trustee Moore, Mayor Woods, and Village Manager Mick, the meeting recessed for 15 minutes.
