Park Forest plans slight decrease in proposed property tax levy for fiscal year 2025

A public hearing is scheduled to discuss the proposed property tax levy for the Village of Park Forest. The meeting will take place on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room at Village Hall, located at 350 Victory Drive in Park Forest, Illinois.

The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2024 amounted to $22,339,185. For 2025, the proposed amount to be levied is $22,297,182. This reflects a decrease of 0.19% compared to the previous year.

Property taxes allocated for debt service and public building commission leases in 2024 were $0. The estimated amount for debt service in 2025 remains unchanged at $0.

In total, property taxes extended or unabated for 2024 were $22,339,185. The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2025 are $22,297,182—a reduction of 0.19% from last year.
