Joseph Lamar Buss, born on August 23, 1959, to Edward and Geraldine Buss, who preceded him in death, and the fifth of six children, will be remembered at a memorial visitation on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The visitation will take place at O’NEIL FUNERAL HOME, located at 1105 E. 9th St., Lockport.

Joseph attended Saint Dennis Catholic School, graduating from the 8th grade, and later graduated from Lockport Township High School in 1977. Following high school, he pursued further education by taking courses at Joliet Jr College.

Throughout his career, Joseph served in various roles, working as a greenskeeper at Texaco Golf Course, a correctional officer at Joliet Correctional Facility, and as a patrol officer for the Chicago Police Department along with providing security for the White Sox.

Survived by his wife of 38 years, Levette, Joseph is also survived by his children: Chianta (Markez), Stacy, Ashley (James), and Joseph Jr. (Gisela). Additionally, he leaves behind nine grandchildren: Shanta, Manijah, Takayla, Joseph, Emma, Xander, Amelia “Mill-Mill”, Isabella “Bella”, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his CPD Posse Ron, Tim, Nick, Don, and Jack.
