MOKENA, Ill. — Leonard “KZ” Kezis, of Mokena, Illinois, passed away surrounded by his family. Born on May 6, 1936, in Chicago to Aldona and Bruno Kezis, Len’s life was characterized by hard work and dedication to family.
He is survived by his children: Sandra (the late Joseph) Connolly, Leonard Kezis Jr., Joyce (Gregory) Dasher, and Carolyn (Jerry) Stoklosa. Len was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather and a fun uncle to many nieces and nephews.
After attending trade school, Len had a career as a talented auto body technician, passing on his skills and wisdom to neighborhood kids. In 1957, he married his beloved Carol, and together they raised their family in Calumet Park before relocating to Mokena.
Nicknamed “KZ,” he enjoyed bartending and was a loyal supporter of the Chicago Blackhawks, Bears, and White Sox. Len was known for having a garage filled with cars, projects, and toys, and his passion for snowmobiling. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, and love of his family.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Mokena, with a Funeral Service on Friday, November 21, 2025. Interment will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Mokena. Leonard “KZ” Kezis will be cherished and remembered for generations to come.
