Mokena School District 159 has opened kindergarten enrollment for the 2026-2027 academic year. Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2026, are eligible to enroll.

A Kindergarten Information Night is scheduled for April 30 at 6:00 p.m. at Mokena Elementary School. The event aims to provide families with an overview of the kindergarten program and opportunities to meet teachers and the school principal.

Principal Rachel Chorley stated, “This is always an especially exciting time of year. I truly value the opportunity to begin building relationships with our new students and their families. Our priority is to ensure a seamless transition into the formal school setting while intentionally nurturing the foundational skills and habits that will support students as confident, capable lifelong learners.”
