Each year, the Illinois State Board of Education invites parents, teachers, and students in grades 4 through 8 to participate in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. The survey is designed to identify strengths and areas for improvement within schools by collecting data on five key indicators: effective leaders, collaborative teachers, involved families, supportive environments, and ambitious instruction.
Parents are encouraged to complete the survey for each school their children attend by Friday, March 13th. According to the Illinois State Board of Education, “The Illinois 5Essentials Survey is a research-based survey to help identify strengths and areas for growth in our schools. The survey gathers data related to five indicators that can predict important student outcomes.”
