On Friday, March 13, Richie LaCien, a former Lincoln-Way Central High School standout, helped his current college team, the Illinois Fighting Illini, to a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Golden Gophers in their NCAA Division I baseball contest.
The matchup took place at Illinois Field and marked the teams’ first meeting of the season.
The Fighting Illini are set to play Minnesota Golden Gophers again at Illinois Field on Saturday, March 14 at 3 p.m.
