Frankfort residents paid property taxes amounting to 2.1% of their home’s value in the fourth quarter of 2025—over 2.4 times higher than the national average, BlockShopper.com data shows.

Data from 76 homes sold during the same period indicate a median sales price of $550,000 in Frankfort, with a median property tax bill of $11,701 for 2025. This represents an effective property tax rate of 2.1% based on the median assessed home value.

The national effective property tax rate was 0.888% in 2024.

Within Will County, Wilton, Park Forest and University Park had the top three highest effective property tax rates.
