With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Daniel, beloved husband of Carey. He was a loving father to Daniel Grabe Jr, Deborah Geppert (Greg), April Vacik (Mike), Wendi Barnes, Joy Mahoney, Jill Husick (Brandon Elia), and a cherished Papa to Heather Maurer (Jon), Holly Martens (Greg), Tyler Geppert (Lindsay), Max Geppert, Zack Geppert, Keegan Geppert, Olivia Vacik, Cody Vacik, Dillon Mahoney, Gus Mahoney, Gavin Mahoney, Ike Husick, Abe Husick, Benjamin Barnes, and Madeline Barnes. Great-Papa to Kaiden Grabe, Noah Grabe, Zoe Maurer, Wyatt Maurer. Daniel was not just a husband, father, or Papa, but also a guiding light, a source of strength, and a mentor to many. Known for his humor, wisdom, generosity, and kindness, he will be deeply missed. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Anderson Memorial Home in Plainfield, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lightways Hospice in Daniel’s memory. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
